About English Listening Adventure
I built this app to train English listening comprehension the way it actually happens — announcements, phone calls, lectures and half-heard conversations — rather than through isolated grammar drills. It's aimed at IELTS and TOEFL learners who want realistic listening practice they can do in a few minutes a day.
Each adventure is a short story split into episodes. You listen a limited number of times, answer comprehension questions, and collect stamps and souvenirs as you go. Difficulty rises from B1 through to C2: faster and more natural delivery, more idiom, more speakers, and less predictable vocabulary.
Right now, the spoken audio is generated using text-to-speech, aiming for a natural British English (en-GB) voice — not real recorded voices. It's a placeholder while I work out the best way to get natural, native-speaker audio into the app. Voice quality and availability vary by browser and device; Chrome, Edge, or a recent iPhone or Mac give the clearest pronunciation.
About the levels
Levels are AI-approximated for practice purposes and are not official CEFR, IELTS, or TOEFL ratings from any certifying authority.
Thanks for trying it out — I hope it helps your listening as much as I'm hoping it helps mine.
